Blue Heron Consulting Corp., a Rochester, N.Y.-based management consulting and technology services firm specializing in utility strategy and implementation, announced March 13 its agreement with City Utilities of Springfield to provide maintenance and support of its customer information system. The one-year contract begins April 1.
Under the agreement, Blue Heron will support City Utilities' CIS Plus system remotely from its Rochester headquarters. The contract also includes a number of proposed system enhancements, beginning with the design of a data archiving and purging solution.
"In these times of economic uncertainty, City Utilities determined that Blue Heron's balance of experience and value pricing provides the best opportunity to cost-effectively maintain and enhance our customer information system," said Kathy Fritts, senior manager of information technology with City Utilities.
