About 25,000 customers remain without power as of Tuesday afternoon, according to information from CU. More than 200 crews, comprising about 1,000 workers, are in the field working to restore power.
The utility also says that it has taken nearly 40,000 calls on its customer service lines since the storm began. Officials remind those without electricity not to call to ask for estimates on when power will be restored, due to the extensive damage to multiple parts of the electrical system.
Additionally, CU wants customers to be aware that as the temperatures rise above the freezing mark – anticipated to happen by Thursday – rebounding trees and their limbs could result in additional outages. Falling ice also will be a substantial risk to both workers and the general public.
Customers are encouraged to stay away from all downed lines and to not remove debris from power lines as any line can be electrified and dangerous.[[In-content Ad]]
