CU names general manager finalists

Posted online
The City Utilities Board of Public Utilities has released the names of the three finalists to succeed John Twitty as general manager, two of which are CU employees.

The finalists are:
  • Scott Miller, CU associate general manager of electric supply;
  • Wade Stinson, CU associate general manager of operations; and
  • Herman Morris Jr., city attorney for Memphis, Tenn., and former president and CEO of Memphis Light, Gas and Water.
Final interviews are scheduled for next week. An opportunity for the public to meet the candidates will be announced later this week, according to a news release.

The board expects to announce in early May the successor for Twitty, who will retire in June after two decades with the company.

Following Twitty's retirement announcement in December, more than 100 applications were submitted during a nationwide search. Candidates were narrowed down by the CU general manager search committee, along with help from consulting firm Mycoff, Fry and Prouse LLC, and CU human resources staff.
