Crystal Bridges to turn Kraft plant into arts facility

Posted online
Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art officials have announced they will turn a former Kraft Foods plant in Bentonville, Ark., into a visual- and performing-art space.

The 63,000-square-foot Kraft Foods plant, which dates back to the 1940s, was decommissioned in 2012.

Arkansas Business cited a news release in which the museum’s executive director said the plant would provide a new venue for creativity from today’s artists, as well as access to the artists and their work.

Financial details of the project were not disclosed in the announcement, but the new space is expected to open in 2018.
