Crypto investor Justin Sun has purchased "Comedian," the art comprising banana duct-taped to a wall by Italian artist and cultural prankster Maurizio Cattelan.
Sun essentially is paying $6.2 million for a certificate of authenticity allowing him to duplicate the work. A banana does not come with it, as it would rot.
"This is not just an artwork," Sun said in a statement. "It represents a cultural phenomenon that bridges the worlds of art, memes and the cryptocurrency community."
