CRW Properties will build a 17,400-square-foot office building in Deerfield Office Park, at the corner of Ingram Mill and Ridgeview, according to its president, Jerry Jared.
CRW Properties was founded in 1990 by the late Clarence Wheeler, who also began the Consumers grocery store chain. The company owns and manages a number of former Consumers stores, Jared said.
The new office building will house CRW Properties' offices, and will have 13,000 square feet of office space available for lease, Jared said. The building will be two floors.
As of now, the building has no other tenants than CRW.
CRW Properties will be the leasing agent for the property, Jared said. Jared is the company's only employee; he plans to hire another employee prior to the move.
Butler, Rosenbury & Partners is the architecture firm for the project, and Killian Construction will be the general contractor. Jared said ground was to have been broken on the property the first week of September. The project should be complete in eight months.
The building will be brick and stone and feature a country-French type of architecture, Jared said. He said the location is good for the building because of its access to major roadways.
"It's close to a good traffic stream with 65 Highway being right there, and it also has good access to Battlefield Road," Jared said.
No lease rate has been determined for the property.
