Crude prices soar above $31 a barrel

At the end of a rough week, oil prices surged Friday morning - jumping back above $31 a barrel.

On Thursday, prices rose 4.2 percent to settle at $29.53 a barrel, the largest one-day percentage gain since Oct. 28.

This year, oil prices are still down by 20 percent and are 73 percent below the June 2014 peak of $107.73.
