Crucial stat Americans misunderstand about immigration

Studies show Americans are missing a key piece of information when it comes to political debate on immigration.

That’s the number of immigrants living in the United States.

According to respondents to a National Bureau of Economic Research survey, on average people think immigrants make up 36 percent of the U.S. population.

In actuality, according to Quartz, it’s 10 percent.
