Crowder College selects new president

Posted online
Crowder College in Neosho has tabbed Jennifer Methvin, vice chancellor for academics at the University of Arkansas at Hope, to be its next president.

The Crowder College Board of Trustees voted on Feb. 14 to offer the position to Methvin, who has served as vice chancellor at the Arkansas school since 2005. She previously worked at the university as a division chairwoman for arts and sciences and as an English professor.

Methvin – who holds a bachelor’s degree in creative writing, a master’s degree in creative writing and a doctoral degree in community college leadership – has been an English professor since 1993, when she worked at Arkansas State University. A starting date for the new president has yet to be announced, according to the Joplin Regional Business Journal.
