Crosstown Barbecue, 1331 E. Division St., celebrates its 50th anniversary this month.
Owner Steve Williams said he was 8 years old when his father opened the restaurant.
He took over his father's restaurant after graduating from Drury University with a bachelor's degree in business and administration. He later earned a master's degree in education.
