Crocs Inc. (Nasdaq: CROX), the company known for its colorful clogs, is exploring strategic financial alternatives, including a leveraged buyout that would move the company to private ownership, according to a Reuters report.
The company hired investment bank Moelis & Co. to look into options and is said to have already had talks with a small group of private equity firms.
Established in 2002, Crocs sells its shoes, made out of a proprietary closed-cell resin it calls Croslite and offered in more than 300 four-season footwear styles, in some 125 countries, according to its website.
