Creek Side Pub to close this weekend

Posted online

Galloway Village staple Creek Side Pub is slated to close after hosting its final concert.

Artists Izabel Crane and Reed Waddle are slated to play tonight to close out the 3830 S. Lone Pine Ave. bar. Owner Barry “Bear” Gannaway, who informed customers a year ago about the closure, could not be reached for comment by deadline. Gannaway has been posting a countdown in recent days on Facebook promoting the venue’s final shows.

In July last year, Gannaway posted that Creek Side would close on June 23, 2018.

“For each and every one of the musicians that helped make Creek Side what it is, you are all invited to the last night of music by the creek. I sincerely hope that as many of you extraordinary individuals will be here that last night to celebrate with me, my staff and the many people that supported you,” the post reads.

In a series on Creek Side Pub by journalist Ed Peaco, Gannaway cited a landlord dispute, as well as a calling to travel more and spend time with family, for the closure.

The nearly 1-acre property that houses Creek Side is owned by Samuel Watts, according to Greene County assessor records. It has a 2018 taxable appraised value of $143,000.

The venture is the latest in Galloway Village to close, after Sequiota Bike Shop LLC shuttered in March amid a landlord dispute.
