Credit unions complete merger

Posted online
CU Community Credit Union announced today it has completed its merger with Southwest Missouri Credit Union.

The combined Springfield entity operates under the name CU Community Credit Union with more than 10,000 members and $90 million in assets, according to a news release.

“CU Community is pleased to be the credit union for 3,500 additional people living and working in Greene and Christian counties,” CU Community President and CEO Judy Hadsall said in the release. “The merger is complete, and Southwest Missouri Credit Union members are already taking advantage of enhanced products and services offered by CU Community.”

The release pointed to services such as lower rates on loans, online and mobile banking, and a debit rewards program.

The two credit unions agreed to merge in July after votes by the organizations' boards and memberships approved the plan, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
