Credit Suisse cutting 4,000 jobs after first loss since crisis

Swiss financial services holding company Credit Suisse announced it would cut 4,000 jobs, roughly 10 percent of its workforce.

The news comes alongside the company's earnings report revealed a $2.8 billion net loss in 2015. That's the first loss since 2008.

The company wrote down the value of its investment banking business by $3.8 billion in the fourth quarter. It said the charge was related to its acquisition of Wall Street firm Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 2000.
