Creator of McDonald's Big Mac dies at 98

While you may not know his name, you probably know his famous sandwich.

Michael "Jim" Delligatti, the McDonald's franchisee who created the Big Mac, died Monday. He was 98.

One of McDonald's earliest franchise holders, Delligatti went on to own and operate 48 restaurants in western Pennsylvania.
