Crazy Eddie CFO: 'We are in the golden era of white-collar crime'

Back in the 1980s, there was an electronics retailer that perpetrated a crazy-big fraud scheme "simply because we could," according to its former CFO.
 
Sam E. Antar, one of the masterminds behind the Crazy Eddie fraud that became a symbol for white-collar crime, served six months house arrest and paid civil penalties. Now, he's a consultant to the government and private companies on corporate crime.
 
Antar spoke recently at a fraud summit in New Jersey where, according to CNNMoney, he said prosecutors today are tax collectors who aren't interested in prosecuting the Wall Street bankers responsible for the recession. Antar said his biggest regret is that he "should've been a criminal today rather than 20 years ago."
