The Springfield Landmarks Preservation Trust hired Crain March 1 as facilities director for the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Center, 325 Park Central East. She previously was a project manager with DeWitt, where she helped lead recent renovations to the Morris building and the Gillioz’s two-year restoration, completed in October. During that project, those involved dubbed her “the angel of the Gillioz,” according to a news release from the theater.
“It’s sort of like … we’ve birthed this baby, and now I get to see it through …” Crain said. “It’s a great opportunity.”
Crain will be responsible for supervising all construction and maintenance for the center.
Gillioz Business Manager Rachel Wright said the trust hired Crain for her construction expertise, but also for her experience with the Reagan center.
“That was part of the allure to me, maybe for them to invite me to this position and for me to say yes, was my familiarity with the building and some of its quirks,” Crain said.
