It may come as no surprise: Americans like craft beer.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, craft beer continued its growth last year, rising to 7.8 percent of total U.S. beer volume, up from 6.5 percent in 2012. In 2013, craft beer volume rose 18 percent to 15.6 million barrels.
According to the Brewers Association, a Colorado-based industry trade group, craft beer sales total an estimated $14.3 billion, about 14.3 percent of the total U.S. beer market.
The Post-Dispatch reports of the 2,822 breweries operating in the U.S., 2,768 are considered craft breweries.
