CoxHealth to hold free cancer screenings

Posted online
Physicians at the CoxHealth Hulston Cancer Center will host free skin cancer screenings 8 a.m.-noon May 7.

The time allotment allows for about 100 people to be screened, CoxHealth media relations coordinator Stacy Fender said, noting that there are about 60 spots left, available by appointment by calling (417) 269-4636.

"A lot of people don't have a regular dermatologist, she said. "This is a good chance for people not under the care of a dermatologist to get that first screening and make sure everything is OK."

The screenings will be held in Suite 100 of the Hulston Cancer Center, 3850 S. National Ave.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, free skin cancer screenings also are scheduled for May 13 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.

CoxHealth also is set to hold a free stroke prevention screening May 26 at Cox North as part of National Stroke Month.[[In-content Ad]]
