CoxHealth today announced a partnership with Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Novaseek Research Inc.
Through the agreement, Novaseek will gather biospecimens and other clinical data from CoxHealth patients with their consent and authorization. The samples will be used for biomedical and clinical research, according to a news release.
“Novaseek’s objective is to aid researchers in developing better medicine based on better understanding of patients,” company CEO Kate Torchilin said in the release. “We also want to help health care organizations like CoxHealth balance research engagement with their core mission of providing patient care, as well as giving an opportunity for patients to participate in research.”
Novaseek’s Clinical Data Network for Research cloud-based platform shares information from health care systems with researchers. The system is said to more quickly allow hospitals and patients to participate in biomedical research.
According to
NovaseekResearch.com, installation of Novaseek’s CDNR platform opens health care systems up for federal and industrial funding.
The value of the partnership with CoxHealth was not disclosed in the release, and spokeswoman Kaitlyn McConnell could not be reached for comment by deadline.
