CoxHealth plans 'super clinic' in Branson

CoxHealth is further expanding its "super clinic" concept, with tens of millions of dollars already invested into the Springfield area.

The health care system yesterday announced plans for a 30,000-square-foot clinic on 26 acres of land purchased west of the Branson RecPlex, according to a news release. CoxHealth officials have used the term super clinic to refer to facilities with multiple types of health care in one place, and the new Branson facility is slated to include primary, urgent and specialty care, as well as occupational medicine, on-site radiology and lab services.

“It’s exciting to see the investment CoxHealth is making in our growing community with a state-of-the-art super clinic,” Cox Branson President William Mahoney said in the release. "Making sure patients have the right care at the right time is part of our vision to be the best for those who need us.”

The primary care clinic is slated to consolidate family medicine clinics currently located in two facilities on Highway 248 in Branson. The health care system also is adding four family practice providers with the expansion.

St. Louis-based KCI Construction Co. is serving as general contractor for the project designed by H Design Group LLC and Overland Park, Kansas-based BSA LifeStructures Inc., according to CoxHealth officials.

Crews are scheduled to break ground Feb. 16 and have the project completed in spring 2024, according to the release.

CoxHealth has super clinics in cities including Springfield, Nixa, Ozark and Monett, according to past reporting. The cost of the newest clinic in Branson was not included in the release, though similar facilities have been in the seven and eight figures.
