Carson-Mitchell Inc. is the general contractor for renovations to a parking garage that serves CoxHealth’s Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center. “It’s a post-tension garage, which means it has cables in it that they tighten up after they pour the slabs,” said Chris Carson, project engineer. “Those had come loose due to corrosion, so we had to shore up the entire garage and then … cut all the bad concrete and reinforcements out and put them back.” The project encompasses roughly 40,000 square feet of repairs, he said, noting that the layout of the garage did not change. Work is being done in stages so the garage can remain in use. Completion is slated for September, Carson said.[[In-content Ad]]
