CoxHealth opens fourth Walmart clinic

CoxHealth continues to expand its efforts to offer affordable access to health care through a partnership with the world's largest retailer.

A fourth location of The Clinic at Walmart opens today inside the Walmart Supercenter at 2021 E. Independence St.

The clinic offers access to basic health care services such as checkups, immunizations, screenings and treatment of minor injuries for patients at least 18 months old, according to a CoxHealth news release. The facility accepts CoxHealth network-affiliated insurance, as well as Medicare, Medicaid, cash, checks and credit or debit cards.

The new facility is the second in Springfield; the first CoxHealth Walmart clinic opened March 2 at 3315 S. Campbell Ave. CoxHealth plans to open additional locations later this year, according to the release.
