CoxHealth opened a $10 million, 30,000-square-foot clinic in Nixa about a year after it was announced and construction commenced.
The 501 N. Wilderness Road clinic, which debuted Dec. 14, was built on land CoxHealth purchased on U.S. Route 160, just north of Highway 14.
“As we have evaluated the needs of our region, something we have consistently heard from our patients is that they desire convenience when it comes to their health care,” said Max Buetow, vice president of Cox Medical Group, in a news release. “This facility, the first of several we have slated to open in the coming months, is part of our effort to fulfill that need."
The Nixa clinic currently offers primary and urgent care, and medical officials plan to begin services in January.
The Nixa facility is one of four "super clinics" in the works for CoxHealth. Officials have used the term to refer to clinics with multiple types of health care in one place. The health care system has three similar clinics under development in Monett, Ozark and Republic, according to past reporting.
The $9 million clinic in Ozark is slated to open later this month, according to the release.
