CoxHealth this morning announced the promotion of Abby Craigmyle to a vice president role within the Springfield-based health care system.
Effective April 1, Craigmyle is slated to become vice president of corporate compliance. An employee of CoxHealth since January 2013, she’s currently assistant compliance officer and compliance manager for Cox Medical Center Branson, according to a news release.
As vice president of corporate compliance, Craigmyle will be in charge of development and oversight of the health care system’s compliance plan; implementation of an anonymous reporting system; and the direction of privacy and security required by state and federal laws and regulations.
“Over the past several years, she has proven herself to be a dedicated, exemplary leader whose work has made a great difference in many areas of the organization. She is a wonderful choice for this position and responsibility,” said Charity Elmer, executive vice president and general counsel at CoxHealth, in the release.
Craigmyle succeeds Betty Breshears, who’s retiring after 33 years working with CoxHealth.
Elmer said Breshears was “instrumental in developing our corporate compliance program” that makes sure CoxHealth is adhering to ethical guidelines.
“We have come to rely on Betty’s leadership to guide our organization to a higher level of compliance, in part by infusing compliance efforts into every aspect of CoxHealth’s operations,” Elmer said in the release. “Betty’s efforts have significantly changed CoxHealth’s culture for the better and we wish her well in her retirement.”
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
