CoxHealth hiring 100 for nursing jobs

CoxHealth is holding a hiring event tomorrow to fill 100 nursing support jobs.

The positions are patient safety assistants, nurse assistants, psychiatric technicians and unit assistants, said Melissa Isenberg, a recruiter for the health system.

Isenberg said many of the available positions are being vacated by those at Cox College and other schools, where students will soon graduate and likely move on to new opportunities.

The 50-50 split of part- and full-time jobs are ideal entry-level positions for those looking to get a foot in the door, she said.

“It gives them a lot of patient care experience,” Isenberg said.

CoxHealth plans to extend offers to applicants by the end of next week

The event is scheduled 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Cox South’s Foster Auditorium, 3801 S. National Ave.

The new workers would add to the system’s 10,681 employes systemwide. Nursing support positions make up less than 1,000 of the total, Isenberg said.
