CoxHealth hires Fla. health system exec as new VP

Posted online
CoxHealth hired a Florida health system executive as its new vice president of human resources.

Effective Sept. 28, Rick Roche will succeed John Hursh, who retired this summer after holding the position since 2007, according to a news release.

Roche currently serves as chief human resources and support services officer for the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, which was established in 1988 via voter referendum, according to its website.

“We had several highly qualified candidates to choose from through our nationwide search and Rick rose to the top of that distinguished list of candidates,” CoxHealth President and CEO Steve Edwards said in the release.

Roche also previously worked in senior human resources positions at Memorial University Medical Center and University Health Care System in Georgia, as well as Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio.

In his role with CoxHealth, Roche will be tasked with leading a team that recruits and hires employees; provides orientation for new staff members; resolves employee relations issues; provides child care; and supports the cultural mission of the hospital, according to CoxHealth.com.
