CoxHealth forms partnership with Price Cutter

Posted online
CoxHealth has formed a partnership with Price Cutter designed to engage the hospital's dietitians with Ozarks grocery consumers.

Through the venture, CoxHealth dietitians will host a monthly cooking class at Price Cutter's Taste Culinary Classroom located at its 2021 W. Republic Road store. Classes begin May 23 with "Flavor-Packed Culinary Bundles and Wraps," taught by Jason Bauer, manager of corporate and employee wellness at CoxHealth, according to a news release.

“Although many people might think a cooking class taught by a dietitian is going to be all about what you can’t eat, that’s not my approach at all,” Bauer said in the release. “This is food you’ll enjoy eating because, first and foremost, it tastes great. But you’ll also feel good about eating it because it’s wholesome and healthy.”

Bauer noted during the class, he'll be using ingredients such as Greek yogurt, basil pesto, bell peppers, cheese, avocado, shrimp and mint.

CoxHealth also has scheduled a June 11 supermarket tour at the same Price Cutter store with CoxHealth dietitian Donna Webb, who will teach consumers how to shop with healthy choices in mind.

“I’m very pleased to be partnering with the dietitians at CoxHealth. It enables us to bring experts in healthier eating to our shoppers, who we know are very interested in providing quick and easy nutritious meals for their families,” Price Cutter Executive Vice President Larry Hayward said in the release.

The partnership with CoxHealth comes about two months after Price Cutter Culinary Director James Clary vacated his position. Clary, who was hired by Price Cutter for the post in November 2008, on April 3 was named general manager of The Tower Club.
