CoxHealth signed a commercial network agreement that expands an existing relationship with health insurance company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM).
Health care system spokesperson Kaitlyn McConnell said the deal announced late last week provides in-network access for Humana commercial plan members at all of CoxHealth's facilities, including its two Springfield hospitals. Previously, Cox Medical Center Branson was the only entity that had in-network coverage for Humana commercial members, she said.
McConnell declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal, which took effect yesterday.
CoxHealth is "contracted with most major insurance companies in the market," McConnell added.
Humana tomorrow is scheduled to release its third quarter earnings report. The company's shares were trading at $405.71 as of 10:38 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $208.25 to $449.43.
