CoxHealth CEO joins Drury board

CoxHealth CEO Steve Edwards has been elected to the Drury University Board of Trustees.

Edwards, who received his undergraduate education at Drury, was selected by the board late last week, according to a news release.

“Steve will bring great insights to our board discussions," said Lynn Chipperfield, chairman of the board, in the release. "His presence offers a reminder that the Drury community and the greater Springfield community are inextricably linked, and that the success of one depends on and benefits from the success of the other.”

While attending Drury, Edwards was involved in Student Senate, the Mortar Board national honor society, Drury Ambassadors and Model United Nations, and served as president of the Interfraternity Council and the Sigma Nu fraternity, according to Drury's Web site.

“Steve was an outstanding leader during his days at Drury and continues as such in our region today,” Drury President Todd Parnell said in the release.

Edwards became the fifth CEO of CoxHealth in January, succeeding Bob Bezanson, who retired.
