Urology services at CoxHealth and St. John's Regional Health Center earned rankings among the Top 50 urology centers, according to a report by U.S. News & World Report. CoxHealth ranked No. 38 on the list and St. John's ranked No. 39.
According to announcements from CoxHealth and St. John's, rankings were determined based on evaluations of patient medical data, technology, nursing care, death rates and reputation.
CoxHealth's practicing urologists include Barry Farber, Howard Follis, Mark Milne, Jay Milne, Thomas Pearson, Robert Scanlon II, Peter Trinca and James Webb.
St. John's urology services include St. John's Clinic urologists Jeffrey R. Johnson, Robert Johnson, Geoff Lloyd-Smith and Mark Walterskirchen, as well as a team of health-care providers at St. John's Regional Health Center.
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore was ranked first on the list. Another Missouri hospital, Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, was ranked fifth.
According to U.S. News & World Report, this is the 14th consecutive year it has provided the rankings.
The rankings include 203 different medical centers from a pool of 6,003 hospitals across the country. Rankings are available for 17 specialties.
