Cox College retains current tuition rates

Posted online
The Cox College Board of Trustees has voted not to change tuition rates for the 2009-10 school year to help students weather the economy and tightened credit market.

"To balance our budget, we are tightening our belts wherever possible to continue to put students first," Cox College President Anne Brett said in a news release.

The nursing and health school already is taking steps to prepare for expenses that are expected to increase even as tuition and fees remain the same.

"We are scrutinizing employee travel; we've put hiring for some open positions on hold; and we're asking everyone to think twice about purchases to make sure they are critical," Brett said, noting that school leaders will evaluate expenditures throughout the year and adjust the budget accordingly so the college's mission isn't affected.
