The Cox Health Systems Auxiliary was named Auxiliary of the Year by the Missouri Association of Hospital Aux-iliaries.
Between Sept. 1, 2000, and Aug. 31, 2001, 675 active auxiliary members from Cox Health Systems donated 93,249 hours of service to the hospital and local community.
The auxiliary was recognized for its exceptional efforts during a Nov. 8 awards luncheon at the Missouri Hos-pital Association's 79th annual convention and trade show in Osage Beach.
The Cox Health Systems Auxiliary raised more than $478,000 which funded several projects. The auxiliary awarded six nursing scholarships and purchased polo shirts and jackets for auxiliary members.
In addition, the auxiliary sponsored the hospital's CARE Mobile, which travels throughout the community providing health care to residents.
The auxiliary also purchased a new computer system for the hospital gift shop. The computer allows the gift shop to maintain a running inventory of products and manage inventory more efficiently.
