County assessment lists due Thursday

Posted online
Greene County residents have until Thursday to return their 2007 personal property and business assessment lists to the county assessor’s office.

All Greene County residents and business owners as of Jan. 1 are required to declare all taxable personal and business property to Assessor Rick Kessinger. Property includes motor vehicles, boats, trailers, livestock, farm machinery and business-related equipment.

The assessment lists are the basis of 2007 personal and property tax bills, which will be sent out in November.

The assessment lists were mailed in early January and must be filled out and postmarked by March 1. Late penalties can range between $10 and $100.

County residents and business owners who did not receive a list should call the assessor’s office at (417) 868-4195 or visit the office in the Greene County Historic Courthouse, 940 Boonville, Room 37.[[In-content Ad]]
