Burlison removed himself because of potential conflicts of interest in dealing with the audit now that he is on Springfield City Council, according to a city news release. He was elected to an at-large council seat in April, several months after the audit petition was filed with the Missouri Auditor’s Office.
Tom Martz of Springfield will be the new chief petitioner, according to the release.
