CoStar sues longtime competitor Xceligent

CoStar Group Inc., one of the world’s largest commercial real-estate data companies, has taken direct aim at longtime competitor Xceligent.

The suit filed in federal court in Kansas City alleges Xceligent has engaged in “brazen and widespread theft” of its data and photos.

Xceligent denies the charges and claims it has controls in place to ensure "protection of intellectual property rights" and that data it publishes is "within the scope of those rights."
