The recommended corridor changes are the result of a study sponsored by the Ozarks Transportation Organization and conducted by Olsson Associates and CJW Transportation Consultants.
The study identifies ways to improve the flow of north-south traffic along five corridors: State Highway 160/Campbell Avenue; State Highway 13, north of Interstate 44; Kansas Expressway; West Bypass/State Highway 160; and National Avenue, south of U.S. Highway 60.
Four open houses are scheduled for the public to provide input. Each of the following will take place 4:30–6:30 p.m.:
• Jan. 8 at the Battlefield Community Room, 5434 S. Tower Drive;
• Jan. 8 at the Nixa Community Center, 701 N. Taylor Way;
• Jan. 9 at the Library Center Concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.; and
• Jan. 9 at the Willard Recreation Center, 133 N. State Highway Z.
“The tremendous growth of our region has resulted in traffic congestion along all of our major north-south corridors,” said Daniel Rudge, executive director of the Ozarks Transportation Organization, in a news release. “This study is important to anyone who lives, works or plays in our area and has to use the roadway system to do so.”[[In-content Ad]]
