In the Jan. 7 story, “Adding up the miles for neurofibromatosis,” Children’s Tumor Foundation Team Director Steve Kendra said cholesterol-reducing drug Lovastatin reverses learning disabilities brought on by NF. Lovastatin has reversed learning disabilities in mice with NF but, as yet, is still in safety trials in humans.
