Corporation for Public Broadcasting sues Trump administration

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which distributes some $535 million in taxpayer funds to public radio and TV stations nationwide, has filed suit against the Trump administration.

The lawsuit alleges President Donald Trump does not have the authority to fire three CPB board members. The board members were reportedly informed of the firings this week.

"Because CPB is not a federal agency subject to the president’s authority, but rather a private corporation, we have filed a lawsuit to block these firings," officials with the CPB said in a statement.
