Convoy reaches $1M in local food donations this weekend

Posted online
In recognition of Saturday’s Make a Difference Day, Springfield-based Convoy of Hope this weekend will deliver two tractor-trailers of nonperishable food to local food banks.

Convoy of Hope will deliver this afternoon pallets of food to Least of These in Nixa, The Kitchen, Victory Mission and the Salvation Army.

On Saturday, several invited food pantries that cannot accept large pallets will come to a distribution point at Second Baptist Church to load their trucks and trailers with nonperishable goods.

The distributions this weekend will bring Convoy’s total donation of nonperishable foods to local organizations this year to more than $1 million and nearly 1 million pounds.
