Convoy of Hope contributing to 1M meals campaign

Posted online
Convoy of Hope committed to donating up to 250,000 meals toward a 1 million meals campaign led by Rogers, Ark.-based poverty-fighting nonprofit The Pack Shack.

The campaign, dubbed NWA vs. Hunger!, launches March 7-8 in northwest Arkansas and is designed to distribute up to 1 million meals to families in the U.S. and abroad in 2014, according to a news release.

“We’re honored to be partnering with an organization close to our world distribution center in Springfield. We’ll be able to easily move these meals to communities in need," Convoy of Hope CEO Hal Donaldson said in the release.

During the Rogers event, volunteers will pack up to 500,000 meals. Organizations sending teams for the event include Tyson Foods Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., General Mills Inc., Unilever and Proctor & Gamble Co.[[In-content Ad]]
