Springfield-based Convoy of Hope provides disaster response, community outreach and international relief and empowerment across the globe, according to a Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce news release.
Donaldson will lead the prayer meditation at the event, which is at 7 a.m. at University Plaza Convention Center, 730 St. Louis St. Local community and religious leaders also will offer prayers for government needs.
Tickets are free for government employees and $6 for all others. They can be purchased at the chamber, 202 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway.
The event, which typically draws more than 900 attendees, is organized by the Springfield Prayer Breakfast Committee, chaired by Evangel University President Robert Spence, according to the release.
The National Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Thursday in May.
