Leadec Corp. is laying off 146 employees working at a General Motors Co. assembly plant in Wentzville.
Leadec provides cleaning services at the plant. Union officials said the layoffs were prompted by GM ending its contract at the plant with Leadec.
Unionized workers may be able to work for a new cleaning company brought in by GM due to a succession clause in their contracts.
