Work has started on repairs for the community pool at The X Center in McCauley Park.
Branco Enterprises Inc. began on-site work March 29, with a goal of getting the pool ready by the first week of June, according to a news release. The pool did not open during summer 2023 after a "significant leak" was found, according to past reporting.
"This work includes the replacement of all underground recirculation piping within the pool area, addition of concrete pool deck space with more shade structures, the installation of a water play structure and rehabilitation of the pipes and filters within the pumphouse," officials said in the release.
A new addition will be a splash pad that's expected to be available for use in 2025.
In summer 2023, Nixa City Council authorized up to $100,000 for repairs to the pool, according to past reporting. At the time of the council authorization, a timeline on repairs had not been established.
