The more than 50-year-old Consumer Credit Counseling Service has a new name.
The nonprofit financial education and counseling organization is now known as Cambridge Credit Counseling of the Heartland, according to a news release.
"For more than 50 years, families across the Ozarks have trusted us with some of the most personal conversations they'll ever have – conversations about money, stress and hope for something better. That trust doesn't change with our name," said Holly Wilson, Heartland director of community and business development, in the release. "The same counselors will be in the same office, providing the same Heartland service this community has counted on for decades."
Based in Agawam, Massachusetts, the organization's Missouri branch is located at 1515 S. Glenstone Ave., according to its website. The organization also has a branch in Wichita, Kansas.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the new name is scheduled for 4 p.m. on June 29 at the Springfield location. Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce ambassadors are slated to be on hand.
