A construction worker died yesterday when he fell 23 stories at a convention hotel building site in Kansas City.
“We are working closely with the employer of the deceased, who is one of our subcontractors, as well as the police, as they investigate. Our thoughts are with the deceased’s family at this time," said Emily Gallagher, a spokeswoman for JE Dunn Construction, the project’s general contractor.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration opened an investigation into the man's death.
Construction on the $325 million project started about a year ago. It's slated for completion in 2020.
