Crews are beginning drywall work and construction is on target for June completion of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church’s Family Life Center addition, said Associate Pastor Jonathan House. The project originally began under general contractor Westeel Structures Inc., which filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy during a five-month delay on the project. House said the expansion would allow the church, which has an active membership of about 400, to accommodate growth and provide more outreach services and opportunities in its neighborhood. The center will have classrooms, a gym, weight room, meeting areas and a commercial kitchen. “We’ve had some really good progress in the last several months and (will) be very glad to have the project completed,” House said. “Our new contractors have done a wonderful job.”[[In-content Ad]]
