The Oct. 24–Nov. 3 celebration is a collaboration of 24 design and construction organizations from southwest Missouri that highlights the industry’s craftsmanship and opportunities.
Tuesday’s ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. at The Discovery Center, 438 St. Louis St., with tours of the center’s “green building” currently under construction, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. A press conference will follow with industry representatives available for questions.
Career Days spans next week as contractors, architects, engineers, designers and materials suppliers tour middle schools with the goal of developing a quality work force for the future. Speakers will teach young students about variety and opportunities in the industry.
The celebration culminates Nov. 3 at the Salute Awards Banquet and dinner program at the Clarion Hotel. Springfield businessman Joe Jenkins will be the master of ceremonies, and projects, photos and individuals will be honored. Awards for craftsman, superintendent and developer of the year also will be given.
Tickets are $20 and must be purchased by Oct. 31. Ticket outlets are the Springfield Contractors Association, The Builders’ Association, Home Builders Association, Great River Engineering and Springfield Business Journal. [[In-content Ad]]
