Construction begins on KFC, Long John Silver’s

Construction has begun on a KFC/Long John Silver’s restaurant in the Chestnut Crossing development in west Springfield.

Franchisee Ozark Restaurants Inc., based in Springfield, will open the restaurant with Yum! Brands Inc. An official ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 14.

The 3,435-square-foot restaurant, 240 N. West Bypass, will seat 88 and offer drive-through and take-out services, according to a news release from Ozark Restaurants. Completion is scheduled for early December.

Lisa Gott will serve as general manager; she plans to hire about 30 people, she said in the release.

Ozark Restaurants Inc. owns and operates 43 restaurants in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Illinois.
