Construction begins for Hollister McDonald's

Posted online
Ronald McDonald is setting up shop in Hollister.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new eatery was held Aug. 24 at the future site of the eatery, located near the Super 8 Motel on Highway 65.

The event was attended by franchise owner Chris Davidson, McDonald’s corporate representatives, Hollister Mayor David G. Tate and the Carl Gage family, which was instrumental in bringing the golden arches to Hollister, according to a news release from the city of Hollister,

McDonald’s is not the only restaurant eyeing Hollister diners. A Long John Silvers recently opened, and Wendy’s has announced its intent to open an eatery in the Taney County town. FireFalls, an independent restaurant, has recently opened, serving lunch and dinner and offering live entertainment.

On the retail side, according to the release, O’Reilly Auto Parts was slated to open by the end of August, and Fastenal, which offers industrial and construction supplies, recently celebrated its first anniversary.

Ozark Mountain Bank will be building a new facility in Hollister, and First Community bank also has announced that it plans to open a Hollister location, the release stated.

“The city of Hollister continues to grow to meet the needs of the community,” Tate said.
